40 WandaVision Easter Eggs We Almost Missed – And What They Mean For The MCU

The first Marvel Cinematic Universe event of Phase Four – WandaVision – has been and gone now. But what a show it was! Not only did the series provide a touching look at love, death and grief, it also opened up exciting avenues for the MCU that we haven’t previously ventured down. And there were multiple hints along the way for where those roads might lead. So, without further ado, let’s explore them together. Just be warned: there are spoilers ahead!

40. The episode one credits

Shang-Chi is coming to the MCU in September 2021, and the first episode of WandaVision actually contains a reference to an obscure character of Shang-Chi’s world. The name listed as “director” during the fake credits of Wanda’s sitcom is “Abe Brown.” He was one of the Sons of the Tiger who sometimes appeared alongside Shang-Chi back in the day. Oh, and get this, Abe’s also the brother of Spider-Man ally the Prowler.

39. The number 2800

When Wanda and Vision move into Westview, we can see they have the house number 2800. And “2800” is the official designation for the MCU universe – as opposed to Earth-616, which is the “main” one of the comics. Other Marvel universes – such as in the original X-Men and Spider-Man films – have their own numbers. And yes, it’s very possible that the upcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will see some of these universes cross over.

38. The trick with the guns

In episode five of WandaVision, the eponymous character shrugs off the efforts of a group of soldiers by telepathically making them turn the guns on their leader. And fans have noticed that Magneto – Wanda’s father in the comics – did a very similar thing in the first X-Men movie. Surely that’s not a coincidence! Also, now that the MCU has the rights to the X-Men anything is possible – including Magneto being revealed as Wanda’s biological father in the future.

37. The Sorcerer Supreme

While fighting Wanda, Agatha tells her, “Your power exceeds that of the Sorcerer Supreme.” That’s a big, important reference to the Doctor Strange franchise there. The first person to hold that rank in the MCU was The Ancient One – Strange’s mentor. But following her death, the position was left vacant… until now, anyway. Will the second Doctor Strange film – which our favorite witch is confirmed to star in – see Strange and Wanda competing for the title?
